Montrose West Recreation

Get Out There
And Have Some Fun!

Montrose West Recreation, Inc. was first incorporated in 1979 as a non-profit entity for the purpose of improving and expanding existing recreational opportunities in the West End of Montrose County. By sponsoring local endeavors, MWR serves as a local umbrella organization for which a variety of interests could come together to further the recreational needs of the area. Today, Montrose West Recreation continues to act as the coordinator for area recreational activities, working closely with area citizens, West End Public Schools, the towns, local clubs & organizations. MWR has from its beginning been challenged to provide its programming with minimal funding and resources. Their longevity is proof of their ability to be fiscally responsible as well as resourceful in recruiting local talent and volunteers to provide quality programs and activities which include camps for summer & winter adventures, theater club, exercise class, athletic skills camps & leagues, cheer & dance clubs to name a few. MWR serves area youth, adults, and seniors with a variety of activities and programs. MWR has served as a fiscal agent and partner for numerous local clubs and organizations just starting out.

Montrose West Recreation, Inc. organizes & provides youth, adult, and senior recreation opportunities for the communities of Bedrock, Paradox, Redvale, Naturita, Norwood & Nucla Colorado. We are located in southwestern Colorado, approximately 100 miles from the nearest city of any size or population.
